A nice 130 year old Wakefield's Cough Syrup bottle from Bloomington, IL that we dug from an 1880s outhouse privy pit.....WAKEFIELD'S COUGH SYRUP
(boldly emb on sunken front panel) ...
Hand blown in mold....hand tooled square ring collar....aqua...rect....4 7/8"tall....Good condition with only one small shallow chip & a tiny nick on top surface of lip; no other damage. A bit of light haze. Cyrenius Wakefield of Bloomington, Illinois began selling his line of patent medicines in the early 1850s. I've dug pontiled variants of this bottle but this one dates from the 1880s...
