    Description

VINTAGE KGBS LIMITED EDITION BRASS BELT BUCKLE ~ INDIANA METAL CRAFT, 1977.  This heavy buckle has been stored for years & is in overall good condition.  There is a little tarnishing.
"Indiana Metal Craft began as a producer of belt buckles in 1975."
Here's a little Los Angeles Radio History..."The 1020 AM frequency was originally occupied by KFVD from 1925 through 1955, then KPOP from 1955 through 1960. During the late 1930s the station aired a show by singer Woody Guthrie. On June 29, 1960 the call letters switched to KGBS until 1976 when they became KTNQ. KGBS started out playing "Beautiful Music" in the early sixties under the ownership of Storer Broadcasting.
The format shifted to country in 1965 as the station billed itself as The Giant 1020. At the time the station only broadcast in the daytime and went off the air at sunset. Storer bought a sister station, which became KGBS-FM at 97.1. KGBS switched to top 40 in 1969, competing with KHJ. The station turned to "Gentle Country" in the mid-seventies for a few years before become "The New Ten-Q" as a top 40 station".
