You are bidding on the exact vintage quack veterinary medicine bottle you see in the photos. We are not experts so please see all photos and consider them a part of the description.
Very cool vintage screw top medicine Dr. LeGear's Veterinary Liniment bottle w/ original contents in the original box. NOS unopened bottle.
Not sure of the exact date range or age of this particular bottle but it is original. The cap and labels are all original as well. Nice colors, displays well!
The label suggests that this was recommended for things like muscle soreness & pain of animals. 6 FL Oz.
Directions for use are on the front label.
The bottle itself is in good condition for the age. Not seeing any fleabites, chips, or cracks. The mold lines go all the way up to the crown.
The bottom of the bottle is marked with embossed letters:
(O over a diamond with an I in the middle)
DES PAT
89237
I believe this bottle was manufactured by the Owens-Illinois Glass Company.
Here is some information we found on the internet about the bottles manufacturer:
Owens-Illinois Glass Company
was created with the 1929 merger between two huge glass-making leaders of the industry:
Owens Bottle Company
and Illinois Glass Company both with glass productions dating from the late 1800's.
They are still in operation today. Formerly headquartered at Toledo, OH; now based at Perrysburg, OH, Owens-Illinois, Inc. has many glass manufacturing locations worldwide.
On very small bottles, the mark may be rather indistinct and the “I” may be virtually invisible, or just a tiny dot. It may be misinterpreted as the number “1”.
On the typical bottle, the most commonly seen layout is usually a number to the left of, to the right of, and below, the trademark. There are variations of this layout. Some containers, such as liquor flasks, are frequently marked in other ways and therfore the codes may be arranged in a different configuration.
Typically, the number on the LEFT of the diamond logo is the plant code number, the number on the RIGHT is a year date code, and the number below the logo (if present) indicates the mold number (mold identifying number, “mold cavity number” or serial number).
Several trademarks have been used over the years by Owens-Illinois. Their trademark has varied slightly over the years from one container to another. Its' main components consists of a “Diamond and O (oval) overlapping, with an I in center” and dates from circa 1929 into the mid and late 1960s. The time line dates of their trademark usage vary in opinions simply because of the time and effort involved in re-tooling/altering large numbers of molds already in use.
AWESOME BOTTLE FOR ANY COLLECTION!!
We do not clean items so that we do not risk devaluing anything. Just a real cool bottle. Any questions, please ask. Please see photos great for any collection!!

About Us
We are a family who loves history and treasure hunting!! Our business is a small one run from our house which is smoke free and pet free in the area where items are stored and listed. It is just Myself, My Wife, and our 18 year old daughter who also loves History and Picking. Before we list any item we give it a good once over to check for damage as well as research the item as best as we can to bring you the most information we can give you. We are not experts in anything but have a love for learning all. We work very very hard to keep our customers happy and coming back. If there are any issues all we ask is that you do not open a claim or leave negative feedback, contact us first and give us a chance to make it right for you, then if you are still not satisfied, do what you must (rarely happens but we are human). We pick several times a week so we are always listing new finds so check back often and save us in your favorite sellers. We also love to check out and buy estates, collections, ect. so if you are in the area or close to us, and you fall into this category, please let us know and we will contact you. I am a teacher who teaches technical theatre and my wife helps me run the antiques and collectibles side of things. We try to teach our daughter about honesty, integrity, and responsibility and this is one way we do that so every transaction with us in an honest one! This is what we do and this is what we love. Please feel free to email us and ask us any questions you may have :)
