Description
We offer this Vintage 1950's All-Star Basketball Automatic Score Tin Game by Marx. This amazing original vintage game measures approximately 22" long and 13" wide, and 11" tall. The game features a trigger operated basketball player who shoots a free throw when you pull the trigger. When a basket is made, the ball hits the mechanism that advances the score automatically, which works. One of the things about this game that tells you how old it is, is the fact that the player shoots the free throws under handed, which was the style in that era. The graphics are great and bright. The player with his brush cut hairdo works. There are some age related condition issues. The basket has a break in the hoop at the seam. It looks as though someone may have tried to fix it years ago, but we have not touched it and will leave it up to the buyer. There are some dings in the basket background. On the court there is some surface rust throughout and along the edges there is some slight paint loss, but overall, it is a very cool antique item. We think this is a perfect item for your toy collection, your sports collection, your game room, or on display. You probably would play with this antique 70 year old toy, so it's the perfect item to put front and center in your display. We are also including a basketball that is not original to the game, but really adds a cool look in the hands of the shooter while on display. The player will shoot the basketball, but it is too light to fully go through the hoop and trip the mechanism that advances the score. As stated, we are including the ball purely for looks.
