Condition
:   Bottle is in overall good condition.
It has some content stain and outside wear, typically from age and use.  There is nothing specifically wrong with this bottle, it has NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc.  Please see picture for better idea of  LABEL'S condition.

What a great looking AND scarcely found antique Owl Drug Co. bottle.  The design of it is hard to describe.  It is mainly rectangular but when you look at the base of it, it is more diamond shaped than rectangular.   It is actually an octagon shaped bottle, an 8 sided bottle, and the shape of it is somewhat like the irregular hexagon poison bottles you see that were put out by the Sun Drug Co., Bowman's Drug Stores, Melvin and Badger, to name a few, just to give the viewer an idea of the actual design or shape of this bottle.
You RARELY see this design of Owl Drug bottle as they evidently were only used for a short period of time.
This style of bottle came in 4 distinct sizes, from a tiny
2.5" tall 1/2 ounce size, to a 4" tall, then a 5.5" tall, and a large 8" tall size.  What makes these nice is the picture of the owl that is embossed within an oval panel.  It is a very unique, mean or wicked looking owl, embossed with INCREDIBLE detail, and an owl that is seen on few bottles.

It adds to the colorful look of the bottle, shows what originally came in the bottle, and gives it a complete look.   Since so few bottles have survived the elements of time w/paper label intact, this gives collectors a chance to own something that they would otherwise never even see

The Owl Drug Co. was conceived by Richard Miller, a Canadian, who opened the first store at 1128 Market Street in 1892 downtown San Francisco. By 1906 there were 4 stores, the one in S.F., one across the bay on Broadway in downtown Oakland, one built on "K" street in old Sacramento, and one on Spring Street is downtown Los Angeles. By the late 19-teens there were also stores in Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington, and into the 1920's there were stores across the country, even in Wisconsin, Chicago, New York. As time went on and the powers to be changed, the Owl Drug Co. sold out, and the Owl was absorbed by the Rexall Drug Co. Though there were still bottles with embossed owls on them, made even into the 1940's, by the 1950's there were no more Owl Drug Co. stores. Today, about the only reminder of this one-time large drug company are some of old Rexall Stores that are still seen in the old parts of towns that still retain the old signs out front with the "OWL - REXALL" Drug Store prefix on them.   And then, of course, a few old bottles like this one here,
