insurance. We have enjoyed shipping our items all over the world and are happy to offer most of our items to international buyers. Yet insuring International parcels is very expensive so PLEASE NOTE; we do
NOT
insure International orders unless winning buyer specifically requests this and we are able to provide an insurance quote. We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and send payment acknowledgments and shipping confirmations. Your prompt payment will assure a very quick turn-around time.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If our shipping charge is much more than the actual shipping cost, we will refund the excess so what
YOU
pay for shipping/insurance is very close to, if not exactly, the
ACTUAL
shipping costs! This is especially important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are rough estimates

A pair of these bottles were found together many years ago. Prior to this no one had ever heard of or seen one. They were not on the list of every known Montana bottle, not even hinted at. The first one of the two was put up for sale back then and sold immediately to the first person it was offered to, and the second one, this one, has never been offered for sale. So they never hit the streets or went public. Until right now with this listing, few people have ever even heard of one, seen one, or known about their existence. Just the fact that they are embossed with the word FORT tends to get western bottle collector's coming out of the wood work. There is another bottle that was put out by this company, but is is a different shape and is just embossed BENTON, MONT., it makes no mention of the FORT in the embossing. Then there are also D. G. Lockwood drug store bottles from Fort Benton that were unlisted until 1989. But several of them have since been found. Since none of these bottles you see listed here have shown up from the first bottle diggers digging for bottles in the 1960's until when these 2 were found, no others have turned up. This fact suggests that it is not likely that anymore will ever show up, a rare bottle. Fort Benton was the melting pot where western and eastern civilizations collided back in the 1850's - 1880's. River boats from St Louis were able to ascend the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers to the old Fort at Fort Benton, carrying goods from New York, Philadelphia, and St. Louis, and once they ran aground at Fort Benton, it was overland from there, on to Captain Mullan's Trail, that went all the way to the west coast. Fur trappers, trader's, mountain men, merchants, African Americans, Cowboys and Indians, all came face to face on that Missouri River levee just across the old fort and town. A pretty exciting place from the 1850's - 1880, and home to what was later termed the 'bloodiest block in the west' on account of the violence and killings taking place in the saloons there.
Awol rebel soldiers jumped upriver ships to get to the west coast to escape court martial, California gold rush criminals were trying to rob the newly formed Montana mining camps, Indian's were retaliating against miner's that were breaking the treaties and mining their lands, miner's were trying to get their gold from the newly formed Montana gold camps down river to safety, riverboat gamblers were trying to get the gold through gambling, and all of these folks were mixing together, drinking whiskey and playing cards while waiting for the boats coming up or going down river.
What a history! And, what a great, rare souvenir for sale right here, from that long gone past over there
