old bottle (

Bottle embossed
: "
PEPTENZYME / REED & CARNRICK / N.J.
"
Condition
: Bottle is in VERY GOOD condition. It has a little inside haze and outside wear
and the ground lip has typical roughness from the manufacturing process.
Otherwise bottle has NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. The little tin lid is rough. It has rust and corrosion so we kind of helped it out by lining it with tin foil for looks!
Age
: An original antique hand-blown bottle (Blown-In-Mold = BIM) with a ground-top, ca.
late 1800 - early 1900 era.

insurance. We do NOT insure International orders unless buyer specifically requests this and we are able to provide an insurance estimate. If an international shipping charge is much more than the actual shipping cost, we will refund the excess so what YOU pay for shipping/insurance is very close to, if not exactly, the ACTUAL shipping costs! This is important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are estimates. We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and your prompt payment will hasten the turn-around time.
These little oval shaped hand blown pill bottles are always popular among collectors. They were made in this shape so they could easily fit into a pocket or purse but as time went on, they were eventually replaced with tin containers and eventually paper tubes, much like Tums or Rolaids come in today. Like Tums and Rolaids, these were Digestive Tablets (for treating heart burn, upset stomach, etc.) but the
PEPTENZYME
title gave them a much more medically correct sounding term. What is special about this is the
beautiful DEEP COBALT BLUE color
, very nice. In summary, what makes this an exceptional bottle is:
1) The attractive TEAR DROP oval flask SHAPED bottle.
2) It is a beautiful deep blue color.
3) It is nicely embossed and
4) it
is an early hand blown into mold bottle.
A
nice little example of this little bottle,
check it out!
