    Description

8” x 2 1/4" square is this crude circa 1860's bottle dug several years ago in Brooklyn, N.Y. Embossed in those earlier, flattened out letters: "SOCIETE HYGENIQUE / NEW YORK". with a typical flat base found often on 1860's made bottles. Very little could be found on the internet but we know that the "SOCIETE HYGENIQUE" was on the Avenue Rue de Rivoli in Paris, so a branch was a possibility in New York City. The bottle has the look of other French bottles dug in New York City areas and is most likely Flint Glass. Rare and interesting.
It will be mailed by priority and  I cover for loss or damage on an immediate basis. Low opening bid as usual. Auctions are supposed to start low. I combine of course for postal savings.  Thanks for looking.
