  • Condition: No Cracks or chips in the glass, no brakes in the metal mesh covering. The pewter top unscrews to reveal an outer glass tube and an inner glass straw. The outer glass tube has broken partial (see Photo), but the glass straw is still solid.. Item is solid and heavy, about 8 pounds empty.

    Description

    Rare French Antique double ball seltzer/soda bottle covered with wire mesh and measuring approximately 16.5” tall with the large glass ball measuring about 7 inch diameter.  This amazing hand-blown, thick, heavy Artisan glass piece was crafted in the late 19th century and is marked: “VERITABLE SELTZOGENE D. FEVRE PARIS”.  The lid and spout are crafted of pewter.  These rare, beautiful, hard-to-find French bottles are the predecessors of the seltzer bottle with the earliest bottles such as this one made in Paris
    No Cracks or chips, no brakes in the metal mesh covering. The pewter top unscrews to reveal an outer glass tube and an inner glass straw. Item is solid and heavy, about 8 pounds empty.
    The top is on tightly, with just hand pressure I could not unscrew. To avoid risk of damaging item, I did not try more. The inside of the bottle is dirty as a result.
