This is a real nice early pontiled blackglass Dr.Townsend's Sarsaparilla bottle from the 1840s or 1850s....

emb on 3 sides....Large round pontil scar on sunken bottom.....crude applied tapered lip....dark olive green blackglass....square...9 1/2"tall...Excellent shiny nice condition with no chips or damage. Some light surface wear, but not bad. ....A nice clean bottle. Bottle has not been tumbled...it just cleaned up really nice!..  A great looking early colored pontil medicine bottle!....I had this bottle in my personal collection and have decided to sell it, since we have several Townsend bottles
