Description
Here's a scarce 6 sided early pontiled umbrella ink bottle that we dug from an 1850s outhouse privy pit in downtown St.Louis several years ago....no embossing....Open Pontil....crude rolled in lip....6 sloping panels with footed base....light green or teal color....2 1/4"tall....Excellent condition with no chips or damage. Some light haze but not bad. This one comes out of my own personal collection of pontiled inks. My son Paul actually pulled this bottle out of the bottom of a big 15 ft deep bricklined privy in downtown St.Louis on the site of the St.Louis Cardinals stadium .............
