insurance. We do NOT insure International orders unless buyer specifically requests this and we are able to provide an insurance estimate. If an international shipping charge is much more than the actual shipping cost, we will refund the excess so what YOU pay for shipping/insurance is very close to, if not exactly, the ACTUAL shipping costs! This is important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are estimates. We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and your prompt payment will hasten the turn-around time.
T
his bottle originally contained a kola nut / coca leaf tonic, the same mixture that was in several popular tonics back in the day, including the original 1800's version of Coca Cola.
This mix contained caffeine and cocaine and was used as a digestive aid, stimulant, and tonic and from these ingredients it's easy to see why it was advertised as a 'healthful beverage' as it would certainly perk or pep up a person who indulged in it.
These bottles are usually just a medium brown or amber color yet this one is an outstanding
YELLOW
GREEN
color. The logic behind such 'off colored' bottles is that when an order of bottles was being filled but the batch of glass was running low or ran out, they would take glass out of a different batch to finish an order, whether it meant using a whole different color of glass or mixing a different color in with the amber glass that was running out, to finish an order.
That would explain the unusual and attractive color of this bottle.
Also THIS is NOT a dug bottle but as the label shows, it was a bottle that had been tucked away in some out-of-the-way-place that not only kept the delicate paper label intact but also preserved the condition of the bottle so that now, today, it is in
this PRISTINE CLEAN condition,
