    Medicine Bottle
    This is a clear rectangular, smooth base, medicine bottle embossed as shown above. It is 9½ inches high. It was stained on the inside but has been cleaned and polished to its original luster.  It does have a lip chip on the backside of the bottle.  (See picture.)  One of these bottles was sold in the spring of 2020 for .00.  That seller stated that about a dozen of these were dug in a Brooklyn privy many years ago and none, whole or broken, were ever located anywhere else and it was a scarce New York City medicine bottle that rarely ever shows up for sale.  This one was found in south central Pennsylvania in a large cache of uncleaned dug bottles that was stored away since the 1970's.  It is remotely possible that it is also from that Brooklyn dig since other bottles found indicated that this Pennsylvania digger did some digging in New York City.
