Here's another of the many opium narcotic based infant teething syrup bottles from the 1800s.....
MONELL'S / TEETHING CORDIAL / N.Y.
(boldly emb on 3 panels)...Hand blown in mold....hand tooled ring collar....smooth base.....8 sided....aqua...4 7/8"tall....Excellent condition with no chips or damage. A dug bottle with some light haze. We dug this bottle from an 1880s outhouse privy pit, along with other opiate bottles, so someone must have been an addict. Sadly, many babies would become addicted from their mothers giving them these "teething" cordials and syrups
