MHR CYLINDER mhr detachable head
The new mhr CYLINDER HEADS are the natural evolution of the mhr MALOSSI line. The result of the research of its technicians, they determined the victories of the official national and European teams in the cross and speed trophies. Malossi is pleased to be able to guarantee to all pilots who want to participate in the National and European Trophies a product of the highest performance and quality level.
CYLINDER
• Material: special aluminum alloy with a high percentage of silicon and titanium which guarantees high non-deformability at high temperatures.
• Heat treatment: special hardening and stabilization that gives the material a high toughness and rigidity, guaranteeing the constancy of the mechanical and dimensional characteristics up to temperatures of 250 ° C.
• Machining by chip removal: carried out on numerically controlled machining centers with very tight dimensional and shape tolerances (cylindricity, roundness, perpendicularity).
• Internal surface coating: carried out with silicon carbide coating on a nickel matrix, heat treated which guarantees a very high hardness about 600 HV0.1 / 5 with a very high resistance to wear.
• Internal cylinder processing: with special machines that allow to obtain a very high degree of finish on the sliding walls with crossing of the roughness according to the angles set in the design phase (ollatura).
• Drain and transfer diagrams: designed and built specifically for competition. The definition of the exhaust and transfer diagrams required a considerable effort by our technicians on static engine test benches and on the competition fields on which the trophy takes place.
PISTON
• Material: special alloy with a very high percentage of silicon in order to guarantee very high resistance to heat and non-deformability when temperatures vary.
• External coating: tin coating which guarantees a very low coefficient of friction.
• Structure: reinforced to withstand the stresses imposed on a thermal group for competition at the highest level, but at the same time retains a considerable lightness in order to reduce the forces of inertia.
SEGMENT
• Segment in spheroidal cast iron with high mechanical resistance with hard chrome coating on the contact surface, ground and lapped.
HEAD
• The brand new Malossi decomposable head was created expressly to ensure the disposal of the considerable quantities of heat that develop in a very high specific power engine intended for competition.
• It consists of a head in special hardened and tempered aluminum alloy with a high silicon content fixed directly to the cylinder liner, which is lapped on its entire external surface by the coolant, guaranteeing a very high exchange surface. Furthermore, being released from the external walls, it is free to follow the expansion of the cylinder.
• The combustion chamber is made entirely with numerical control machines in order to guarantee dimensional and shape tolerances to the nearest hundredth of a millimeter.
• The separable head system is completed with a cover that closes the upper part of the cylinder ensuring the tightness of the coolant.
• The combustion chamber for this cylinder kit has been studied in terms of geometry and squish specifically for use in the Speed Scooter Trophy and Scooter Cross Trophy.
