During the War of the Ring, Sauron’s Ringwraiths took to the air to scour Middle-earth for the bearer of the One. Borne upon ancient, nameless beasts, fell and terrible, the Nazgûl ranged far and freely, their cries rending the air and striking fear into the hearts of men.
When battle came, the Wraiths drove their bat-winged mounts into their enemies’ ranks, crushing armour and shattering lines. Soldiers they plucked from battlements, hurling them to their deaths, and horse and rider alike they fed to their beasts upon the blood-soaked field of battle.
It's about trying to think about it from the inside out really as well as I can. With the advent now of better digital technologies, it's becoming even harder to discern where the reality and fiction begin and end.
CREATING THE FELL BEAST AT WETA WORKSHOP
A bat-winged brute of fearsome proportions, the Fell Beast was based on original illustrations by The Lord of the Rings conceptual designer John Howe. A seasoned Tolkien artist, Howe had conceptualised the creature for calendars and books in years past and had developed an aesthetic that resonated with the director.
To bring the Fell Beast to life on screen, the artists of Weta Workshop created a scannable maquette, paying careful attention to the physics behind the creature’s biology as they crafted its frightening form. When complete, the two-metre long sculpture was scanned by Weta Digital’s artists as a basis for their digital animation model.
Two decades after he helped design the creature for The Lord of the Rings, Weta Workshop sculptor Jamie Beswarick revisited the Fell Beast, this time capturing its snarling visage as a highly detailed polystone bust. Created using the same traditional physical sculpting techniques honed on the trilogy, the bust can be wall-mounted or displayed on its stand; a masterpiece of fantasy film art.

NOTE: IN THE MARKETPLACE THERE ARE SO MANY SELLERS OF COUNTERFEIT WETA PRODUCTS.
EXPERIENCE WETA COLLECTORS ARE NOT FOOLED BY SELLERS OF COUNTERFEIT MERCHANDISE BECAUSE THEY ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE INCREDIBLE WORKMANSHIP PRODUCED BY SIDESHOW/WETA.  IT IS THE NON EXPERIENCE BUYER WHO ARE TAKEN ADVANTAGE AND CONNED INTO THINKING THEY ARE PURCHASING LEGITIMATE WETA PRODUCTS.  THEY DO NOT HAVE THE EXPERIENCE OF KNOWING WHAT TO EXPECT. THE QUALITY OF COUNTERFEIT PIECES ARE NOT COMPARABLE TO LEGITIMATE WETA PRODUCTS. IT'S LIKE PURCHASING A BRACELET FROM TIFFANY, OR PURCHASING A BRACELET FROM WALGREENS. THE PICTURE ON THE WETA BOX IS NOT ALWAYS COMPARABLE TO THE WETA PIECE IN REALITY. DON'T BE FOOLED!
First, keep in mind that Weta do not sell shoddy work. Weta uses the best materials and have the best artisans to produce their pieces of art.
Poor workmanship ,substandard materials, multiple stress lines, tattered materials, asymmetric designs, poor detailing, poor paint job, and other features that are unacceptable on a quality piece of art.  These characteristics are quite noticeable on counterfeit products.
So, don't be naive and accept an item as a legitimate Weta piece because the vendor claims Weta. Counterfeiters spend more money on recreating the pretty box than on their counterfeit figurines. So, you can easily be deceived looking at outer box.  Always, purchase from a vendor that accepts returns.  Many counterfeit Weta products are sold directly from China into the USA.  It's almost impossible to get your money back. Often free shipping is offered but if you have to return to China the shipping cost may be prohibitive.
Rule of thumb, if you are not awed by your piece, it's not a Weta. Weta scale models are designed by the same artisans who created for the The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies.
    DID YOU KNOW?
Watch out for counterfeit products.  Some significant vendors sell counterfeit goods. Also, they sell SECONDS, also known as Unbranded goods. Seconds are items rejected as inferior by a Companies Quality Control.  These Companies do not Brand product rejections.
Vendor sell their products cheaper than anyone else because they buy for pennies on the dollars from counterfeit and Seconds salespersons.
The fraudulent behavior occurs when sellers sell these products as NEW, but do not add, that their goods are counterfeit or Seconds.  Often, they will use the Companies name in their advertisement and allege their products are backed by the Companies name which in fact they are not.  Some of these sellers claim to be certified dealers for the Company.
I sell only authentic products purchased from reputable dealers.  I do not buy from a back door salesman.
I must compete with sellers of Counterfeit, and Seconds goods. That is why I am exposing these practices. I cannot sell at their lower prices. Sellers of authentic product buy for higher rates.
You want more excellent quality; you must pay more for your products. Authentic products look better because of the higher quality materials used in their production.  They are likely to last longer for the same reason.
When you see sellers with the same generic picture as their peers, (There are no absolutes: not all sellers who show stock photos sell counterfeit or seconds goods.), selling as new, they probably are selling counterfeit products or Seconds.
And, if those sellers' prices are nearly the same, most likely they are selling counterfeit goods.  Also, if product prices are too good to be true, they might be counterfeit or seconds goods.
Counterfeiters' provide the pictures to be advertised and set the selling prices. Buyers must stay within the counterfeiters' guidelines if they want to do business in the future. Their counterfeit buyers are not allowed to profit more than the counterfeiters on the products they sell.
I am proud to sell authentic products at my eBay store. They always make happier customers.
