This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE blown glass bottle with a cork top, dating over 100 years old.

Since this eye water was to be dispensed by the drop, you can tell this is a fairly large vessel.  We once had one of these exact bottles with a full label and it said on the label that it was for 'HOSPITAL USE' only, which would explain the large size.  Most of the antique Murine bottles seen are either the thin slender vials or the bottle that is similar to this one but is only about half as tall.  Comparatively speaking, this one is quite large and held quite a bit of the eye water.
And the condition of it, it is just sparkling clean, it looks as if it was never discarded or reclaimed out of an old dump, but had been sitting somewhere for protection during the last century.  Over a century ago, back in the day when these bottles were being sold as an eye 'remedy', products like this weren't just sold as eye water, but most of them
were a
dvertised
as a CURE or REMEDY, even a TONIC, and that the eye water cured diseases of the eyes, loss of sight, even blindness, which makes them so interesting to collect today
.
Some of them had a narcotic ingredient which led folks to believe that the product was doing amazing things for them when in actuality, it was just the narcotic numbing the pain.
Many collectors of these antique eye remedy bottles are
Optometrists
and Medical Doctors themselves, as they are building collections that show the evolution of the eye medicine history.   This is a classic example of just this thing and would very much compliment a
display case stationed in the waiting room or office
of an eye specialist.   I
