Description

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Bert the Troll Statue by Weta
Bert the Troll comes to life in this exquisite miniature collectible from Weta Workshop, the second in the trio of gruesome trolls. Bert the Troll, portrayed by Mark Hadlow in the film, is a finely detailed miniature collectible designed and sculpted by Weta Workshop creature designer Andrew Baker, who also made the conceptual designs for the trolls and other creatures for the films. The pose for this miniature is based on statue appearances at San Diego Comic-Con 2012, New Zealand's National Museum, and the Weta Cave. Other collectibles in this series include Tom the Troll and William the Troll, sold separately. Measures approximately 6.5"H x 5.9"W x 4.3"D.

NOTE: IN THE MARKETPLACE THERE ARE SO MANY SELLERS OF COUNTERFEIT WETA PRODUCTS.
EXPERIENCE WETA COLLECTORS ARE NOT FOOLED BY SELLERS OF COUNTERFEIT MERCHANDISE, BECAUSE THEY ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE INCREDIBLE WORKMANSHIP PRODUCED BY SIDESHOW/WETA.  IT IS THE NON EXPERIENCE BUYER WHICH ARE TAKEN ADVANTAGE, AND CONNED INTO THINKING THEY ARE PURCHASING LEGITIMATE WETA PRODUCTS, THAT IS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE THE EXPERIENCE OF KNOWING WHAT TO EXPECT. COUNTERFEIT PIECES ARE NOT COMPARABLE TO AUTHENTIC WETA PRODUCTS. IT'S LIKE COMPARING A BRACELET FROM TIFFANY,TO A BRACELET PURCHASED FROM WALGREENS. THE PICTURE ON THE WETA BOX IS COMPARABLE TO THE WETA PIECE IN REALITY. DON'T BE FOOLED!
First, keep in mind that Weta do not sell shotty work. Weta uses the best materials and have the best artisans to produce their pieces of art. Pretty much, your Weta should look exactly like the piece looks on the box. Subtle variations in color may occur because pieces are individually hand painted in the production phase.
Poor workmanship on a counterfeit "Weta piece" show as; poor quality materials, stress lines, abrasions in the material, asymmetrical design, poor detailing, poor paint job, and other things that just do not seem right on a quality piece of art; most likely, all these characteristics appear on counterfeit pieces.
So, don't be naive and accept an item as a legitimate Weta piece because the box claims Weta. Seems to me that Counterfeiters spend more money on recreating the outer box than spent on their pieces.
Rule of thumb, if you are not in awe by your piece, it's not a Weta.  Weta does incredible awe inspired work!!  Weta scale models are designed and made using the same high standards as were used in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit Movies, directed by Peter Jackson.
IT'S BEAUTIFUL STUFF!!
