The lacquer that beautifully turns red and colors autumn in Japan grows only in the Orient. Japanese stone tools were made by sandwiching a piece of stone between bamboo sticks, wrapping it with a skin such as wisteria ivy, and hardening it with lacquer. The part soaked with lacquer remains uncorrupted. There are also lacquered bowls, baskets, combs and earrings along with the Jomon pottery. It turns out that people thousands of years ago knew and used the characteristics of lacquer sap. During the Asuka period, the demand for lacquer increased in the production of Buddhist statues and tools. It was also used in the furnishings of the aristocratic society, and elaborate techniques were developed in the times and the lacquer work unique to Japan was established. Lacquer art has been handed down as a traditional Japanese craft for more than a thousand years.
Feels like it fits comfortably in your hands. Since it is a large thick-axis fountain pen, it feels more like "putting your finger on the pen" rather than "holding the pen".
