Fisher Scientific Light Box & Optical Set.  S 42208.  Complete with all necessary accessories to perform 36 experiments  EXCEPT:  Like the original set, it is not sold with a power supply.  Please look at photos to determine what type of power supply you need.  The directions indicate the light box will operate from any 12V, 3A, AC or DC power supply, but it does not have a traditional type plug.  Everything is in great condition, though the instruction booklet is torn on the back cover and has a couple hand written notes in pencil.

*   Die-cast ventilated lamp housing, 5.9 X 2.75 X 2.55 in.  overall
*   Box has open front with finned sides to dissipate heat
*   Four apertures, one accommodates the slit plates to produce ray tracks, three for mounting a variety of color filters.
*   Two side apertures fitted with hinged plane mirrors
*   Mirrors project beams that will overlap and merge with beam projected from fixed center aperture
*   Produces divergent, parallel, or convergent rays and allows for easy color mixing
*   Lenses, prisms, and mirrors are provided with handles to keep fingerprints off the optical faces
The optical set consists of a source of light rays and a set of devices which reflect, refract and color blend light so that measurement and observations may be easily obtained.  The light source is housed in a specially designed light box complete with an adjustable collimating lens.  The opposite end of the box is fitted with two hinged mirrors which are used to reflect the light emerging from the side apertures.  With various color filters in place, the two side beams may be swung back and forth to overlap and blend with the fixed center beam.  The effect is evident on a screen placed about 8" from the box.
