EMMY Rare AA Black-only Doll Sculpt by Catherine Refabert for Corolle of France

Sculpted by Catherine Refabert for Corolle, made in France, Emmy is a 19-inch vinyl doll that has a matching brown cloth body. Unlike most other Black dolls, Emmy does not share a head sculpt used by dolls of other ethnicities. Emmy has a dedicated, ethnically-correct face sculpt that was only used for Black dolls. This was not a common practice for Corolle dolls as most Black dolls shared the same head sculpt as their White counterparts. Emmy’s head is fully rotational and can be posed in several expressive positions. She has slightly bent baby legs. She can sit or stand with the aid of a doll stand (which is not included).
Emmy's short curly black hair is accented with a pink satin ribbon headband tied in a bow. She has dark brown sleep eyes and an open/closed mouth.
Made in 1992, Emmy comes from a one-owner collection, only removed from the box to photograph. She will arrive dressed in her original clothes of
a white satin-like rose-print smocked dress with white cotton collar that has Corolle embroidered on it. She wears white pantaloons and white booties.
