    Description

Offered Here, is an Original, Antique, "Pontil-Age" 1860's-Era American Patent / Proprietary-Medicine Bottle, which was Likely Blown at a New York State Glass Works ( Possibly Lancaster Glass Works Lancaster New York State).
The Rectangular Shaped Bottle Features Three Fancily Embossed Flat-Side-Panels which Read: "DR. HASTING'S / NAPTHA SYRUP / LONDON".
Great Looking Large, Uneven and Crude Looking Embossed Character are Surrounded by Wavy "Whittle-Marks" and Unevenly Blown Glass Surfaces, which Give the Bottle a Great Look in Natural Sunlight.
The Bottom of the Bottle is  Thick and Displays an Early Thick + Crooked "Hinge-Mold" Seam and Easily Dates the Example to around the 1860's, Just after the "Pontil-Rod" Disappeared from Bottle Production in the United States.
These Bottles are Often Seen with an "Open-Pontil-Scar" and While they Read "LONDON" on One-Side-Panel, They are Documented to be Products of American Glass Houses, and Produced a Medicine that was Marketed by an American Patent-Medicine Purveyor During the Patent-Medicine Boom in America During the 19th. Century. ****The Second-to-The-Last Image in the Photo-Gallery Features an Early Newspaper Advertisement of DR. NAPTHA'S NAPTHA SYRUP as it was Promoted and Sold by a Dr. Mott of New York City and a Dr. Arnold of Savannah Georgia, as Well as S.J. Hinsdale of Fayetteville North Carolina in the 1850's.
Many of the American Blown Bottles of the Early to Middle 1800's are Embossed with the Word "LONDON" Such as Most of the "London Dock Cordial Gin" Bottles put-up by A.M. Bininger of N.Y. City among many other Companies. Additionally the Classic Square-Shaped "LONDON" Snuff or Blacking Bottles that are Normally Found with "Pontil-Scarred-Bases" are almost all Considered to be Products of American Glass Houses in the Early to Middle-1800's.
CONDITION: Nice Original, ( Possibly "Dug) Condition w/ a Small + Hard-to-See Nip on the Very Top of  the Lip as Seen in the Photos. Otherwise NO FORMS OF "DAMAGE", NO BREAKS, NO CHIPS, NO CRACKS, NO "OPEN-BUBBLES, NO "POT-STONE RADIATIONS", NO DISTRACTING SCUFFS, SCRATCHES, OR ABRASIONS, NO BRUISES, NO STRIKES OR IMPACT DINGS.
