Here's a hand blown original sample size Clark Stanley's Snake Oil Liniment bottle with its rare original label....this quack nostrum supposedly contained real rattlesnake oil and was sold in wild west shows during the 1890s by the self proclaimed "Rattlesnake King", Clark Stanley. This embossed bottle dates from that 1890s period, but has a 1906 dated label.....

Hand blown in mold....hand tooled double ring collar....clear....square....small sample size only 4 3/8"tall x 3/4"square......Excellent condition with no chips or damage. A nice clean bottle that comes out of my own personal collection and is the only small size bottle I've ever seen with the original label.. This Snake Oil Liniment was manufactured by Clark Stanley Snake Oil Liniment Company Providence, R.I. .....Clark Stanley was born in Abilene, Texas in 1854. He went to live with the Hopi Indians in Arizona in 1879 where he learned all about the medicinal benefits of rattlesnake oil. With the help of a Boston chemist, Clark Stanley began marketing his SNAKE OIL LINIMENT in the 1880s. Stanley would sell his Snake Oil at traveling
wild west shows. In 1893 at the Chicago World's Fair Clark Stanley was a huge success as he exhibited many live rattlesnakes and showed how he made rattlesnake oil.
