STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
BELIEVE THIS DOSE GLASS IS EARLY, AND A RARE UNLISTED VARIETY ORIGINAL OWNER CONSIDERED IT "EXTREMELY RARE".....IT HAS CRISP EMBOSSING, AND IS LIGHT CLEAR COLORED, BUT HAS THE AGE, WOULD TURN DARKER PURPLE IF LEFT IN SUNLIGHT....THIS DOSE GLASS IS ONLY LISTED AS A "TYPE 2" (CONICAL FOOTED STYLE).....AND COMES OUT OF THE AUTHOR'S COLLECTION, SO POSSIBLY A LATE ADDITION TO HIS COLLECTION
THERE IS A TINY LITTLE BLEMISH / INTERNAL BRUISE POSSIBLY ON THE LIP (see gallery images)...WHEN I LOOK WITH A 10X LOOP, I CANNOT TELL IF A TINY BRUISE OR ALMOST LIKE A LITTLE POTSTONE ON LIP....BUT VERY MINOR, AND SMOOTH TO TOUCH......AGAIN, THIS IS RARE UNLISTED, POSSIBLY UNIQUE
THE "HOLDEN DRUG CO' STARTED IN STOCKTON AROUND 1893....BELIEVE THIS GLASS ISSUED AROUND 1900
This is a beautiful and believe rare old "STOCKTON" CALIFORNIA issued "DOSE GLASS" .....This comes out of a lifetime collection of California dose glasses , where original owner collected dose glasses from all over state of California...here is a stunning representative from "STOCKTON CALIFORNIA" in that collection
These old western drug store "dose glasses" are flat out tough to find today......and this is a tough town.....
The historic  town of STOCKTON is located in San Joaquin County California...not far from towns of Lodi, Manteca and French Camp, Cal.
THIS DOSE GLASS DISPLAYS WONDERFULLY, EMBOSSING IS CRISP & NICE, ..DISPLAYS WELL, NICE COLOR, VERY SHARP PC.
This dose glass is what I would call a
light sun purpled to clear
colored glass, it stands about 1 7/8" tall  ...and it is a very nice specimen,

THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL SPECIMEN
, as mentioned a blemish on back of lip (see gallery) and a little brown stain on the bottom....never been cleaned. I took pictures from all angles and in different lighting conditions to show glass, ...Has the age and would likely turn darker purple if left in sun
