Handmade brass buckle "Bartka"
Bartka is a sharp ax with a small blunt butt (hammer), equipped with a long handle, is a typical instrument among the inhabitants of the Carpathian Mountains: Hutsuls, Boykoes, Lemkos Highlanders, Romanians, Hungarians. They say, that for a skilled Hutsul burtka was weapons, and wood instrument for quit-rents of wood, and ritual objects, and a symbol of social status.
Bartka is one of the most famous Ukrainian symbols. So, let the Bartka be a buckle fom now on!
Buckle is made from brass, by casting. After manual processing, the buckle is covered with patina and polished one more time.
Buckle size: 1.6"x4.1" (41x105 mm).
Fits 1.5" belts.
