    Description

I am currently listing my better "bought" bottles from my collection, some of which I have had for decades. That said, I'm starting with my higher paid for bottles, this one found in a mall embossed "BACON, HYDE & CO./ DRUGGISTS/ ST. LOUIS". From the front it looks perfect but upon turning it there is a base crack extending through the front edge to the back side where there is what looks like an impact bruise with a flake off the edge. It almost appears as though the bruise was glued back into place but on closer inspection it doesn't appear to have ever separated completely, at least that's my opinion for what it's worth. Base has an open pontil along with a few elongated bubbles. It stands 7 1/2" tall by 2 3/4" x 1 1/2" with an applied top. It is #2731 in Johnnie Fletcher's book on Missouri bottles priced at 0-700. Since I bought it on the cheap and considering the damage, I'm starting the bids on the cheap. This would be a presentable example until a better one comes along as it displays nicely. Regardless, I will have my standard guarantee of your satisfaction for any or no reason or full refund upon return. Also I will offer free shipping if you purchase three or more of my auction items and will combine where practical. Thanks for looking and keep watching for more as I continue to thin out my collection of 57 years.
