    Description

We are delighted to offering for your private collection this Fabulous!!! and unusual Antique Tibetan Tibet Bronze and Copper Sculpture Of Buddha Padmasambhava Guru Rinpoche. The sculpture of great quality and details. Buddha Padmasambhava Guru Rinpoche was a tantric Buddhist Vajra master from India who may have taught Vajrayana in Tibet (circa 8th - 9th centuries).According to some early Tibetan sources like the Testament of Ba, he came to Tibet in the 8th century and helped construct Samye Monastery, the first Buddhist monastery in Tibet. However, little is known about the actual historical figure other than his ties to Vajrayana and Indian Buddhism. Padmasambhava later came to be viewed as a central figure in the transmission of Buddhism to Tibet.Starting from around the 12th century, hagiographies concerning Padmasambhava were written. These works expanded the profile and activities of Padmasambhava, now seen as taming all the Tibetan spirits and gods, and concealing various secret texts (terma) for future tertöns.Nyangral Nyima Özer (1124–1192) was the author of the Zangling-ma (Jeweled Rosary), the earliest biography of Padmasambhava. For most Himalayan Buddhists, Guru Rinpoche is the second Buddha, the Buddha of all enlightenment forms and teachings, with a focus on the tantras. Tantra teaches us to first see our teachers as Guru Rinpoche, just as the Great Way leads us to see and name our enlightened nature as Buddha-nature. Then we see everything through the eyes of Guru Rinpoche, right down to our atoms, all beings equally, and every scrap of every blade of grass, every grain of sand. Finally, when we recognize our natural, timeless awareness, we recognize Guru Rinpoche. Measurements: The Sculpture measures approx. 15-1/2" (39.4cm) Tall x approx. 9" (22.9cm) Wide x approx. 6" (15.2cm) in Depth. Provenance: Found at a Palm Beach Florida private Collection. Condition Report: We do our very best to describe the condition to the best of our knowledge. The Sculpture is in very good condition for it's age and presents very well!!.Wear commensurate with age and use. Please check all the pictures they are part of the description.
