    Description

All original, hand fashioned, hand painted, Tibetan square tea table/cabinet with 2 drawers.  Mortise and tenon
joints.  Traditional Lama tea cabinet/ table that is hand painted on four sides making 8 panels.
Flower and grass motif of traditional Buddhist design. This is an antique and the paint is worn in areas
and very clear in others.  Mostly fading. One drawer has been glued in the back.  On each side of the cabinet/low table
there are wooden aprons on the bottom that loosely fit in as well as bottom runners that loosely fit in.
The painting is symbolic of Buddhist teaching:
"The 4-petaled flower is symbolic of the 4 Noble truths, the middle way and the first teaching of Buddha. 1. Life is suffering. 2. Ignorance is the cause of suffering.  3. The cessation of suffering is the goal of life because it transcends pains and pleasure.  4. The way to the cessation of suffering is the Noble Eightfold Path, which aligns with the eight spokes of the Dharma Wheel."
Also depicted is grass which is considered immortal.  In the center of the four petaled flower is the dharma wheel.
This piece has the Tibetan wax seal shown in the pictures.
