Condition
:   Bottle is in nice condition with patches of water stain (patina) and a tiny flake from edge of lip.  Overall fine.   Please see picture of bottle for best idea of overall appearance

: An original hand-blown bottle (Blown-In-Mold = BIM) with a tooled-top, ca. late
1800's.

We have an embossed bottle shaped like this one our collection that is just embossed "
GLYCO - THYMOLINE / 6 FL. OZS.
" with "
K & O Co
" embossed on the base.   It comes with the original full paper label on it that reads, "GLYCO-THYMOLINE contains 4 % alcohol ... FOR DENTAL PURPOSES ... USE DAILY AS A DENTIFRICE AND MOUTH WASH ... Kress & Owen Company ... "   It contained a Dentifrice and Mouth Wash liquid antiseptic.
The Glyco Thymoline bottles come in this unique square shape and in several different sizes.   The smallest ones seem to be the most common, and were probably a sample bottle that contained one dose.   The larger ones are harder to find.  This is one of the largest sizes I have seen and the neck on it is a little longer than most.  It also has a glass stopper which fits quite well into the neck.   Whether it was original or not, I do not know but it is a very snug fit.
The one for sale here in this listing, was somehow connected to and made for an event, a dental convention or dental manufacturing trade show back in 1800's Iowa.
It was maybe given out as a souvenir of the event or in a competition that took place there?  Whatever it was, this is a great antique dental bottle, and with the Dental Society embossing, it is not only quite unique, but it also documents it as being an antique DENTIFRICE bottle, quite possibly a
