This is an uncommon FULLY EMBOSSED tooth powder bottle that contained, not just any tooth powder but "
UNEQUALED
" tooth powder!  There are a few variants of this bottle, both are scarce bottles.
The paper label on this particular bottle is a reproduced copy, a
facsimile of the real label, a color reproduced copy.   We had it copied from one of these bottles we had that still had the label on it.  This is a hard bottle to find with a label on it, and expensive too, and there are very few of the labeled examples still around. So this way, with a copy of the original label on it, many more people can enjoy it as it originally looked as very few collectors will ever find one of the originals.
Antique TOOTH POWDER bottles as this contained nothing more than a powdered tooth paste, yet they claimed that they did much more, curing all types of diseases of the mouth, gums, throat, even things that they still can't cure today.  NOTE that this one says on the label that it even "
MAKES FILLINGS LAST
", and that it "
CURES Soft and Bleeding Gums
".   The fact that it uses the word
CURE
on it dates this as an early bottle.  By about 1910 the Pure Food and Drug Administration had outlawed the use of this word *CURE* on medicine bottles as it was fraudulently used to make claims that were not true.
Many of the collectors of antique dental bottles are dentists, building small collections of quality antique dental bottles to display in their waiting rooms and offices and this is a prime example of just this sort of thing
as it says so simply, "
