domestic shipping. We ship International but we do NOT insure International orders unless buyer specifically requests this and we are able to provide an insurance estimate. If an international shipping charge is much more than the actual shipping cost, we will refund the excess so what YOU pay for shipping/insurance is very close to, if not exactly, the ACTUAL shipping costs! This is important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are estimates. We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and your prompt payment will hasten the turn-around time.
We have actually dug these bottles up here in Montana, in the earliest towns. As unpleasant as it sounds, the American Worm Specific that came in this bottle was used to kill worms in people, back when parasitic worms were not uncommon. I believe Dr. McLane had his practice in St. Louis, which is just downstream (a few thousand miles) from Montana where these bottles are found. During the Montana gold rush of the early 1860s, freight was brought up the Mississippi and Missouri River, by steam boats, to Fort Benton, Montana. St. Louis merchants got rich in a hurry as the could sell a bottle of WORM SPECIFIC like this for many times what they could sell them on the home front for, and cases of the Worm Specific ended up in Montana Territory before the civil war had ended. Anyway, lots of history in a bottle this old, the open pontil on the base dates it pre-1865 for sure, probably earlier than that. This is a nice example,
crude with a nice patina uniformly covering the bottle
