domestic shipping.   We do ship International but we do NOT insure International orders unless buyer specifically requests this and we are able to provide an insurance estimate.  If an international shipping charge is much more than the actual shipping cost, we will refund the excess so what YOU pay for shipping/insurance is very close to, if not exactly, the ACTUAL shipping costs! This is important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are estimates.  We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and your prompt payment will hasten the turn-around time.

lbert Calder operated an old-time apothecary shop in Providence, Rhode Island, in the latter half of the 1800's.  Sometime around 1870 he started manufacturing a tooth powder which he branded, '
    CALDER'S SAPONACEOUS DENTINE
'.  It had quite a successful run as the Calder Dentine Co. was in business all the way into the 1930's.  It was advertised as 'Calder's Saponaceous Dentine', and among several claims to it's curative power, it said that it 'prevented tooth decay, kept gums firm and red, the breath pure and sweet'.   A really great looking little Tooth Powder bottle in equally great condition.
Saponaceous is one of those lovely Victorian words that take the elaborate, poetic path to describe something quite common, in this case, soap.
    So in reality,
    Saponaceous Tooth Powder was t
ooth powder with soap.  Using this product was similar to
having your mouth washed out with soap, check it out!
