Description
Stunning, unique and rare vintage Native American Navajo Belt Buckle (c.1945-1950) Thick Heavy Sterling Silver with the most amazing Smooth Bezel Set Large Natural Shaped Carico Lake Turquoise Stone in the center with a beaded accent frame. The Turquoise Stone is significant in size and has an estimated weight of (125 carats.) The Buckle is in good pre-owned vintage condition as seen in photos. Both the Sterling and the Turquoise have aged well. The Sterling Silver has some expected age appropriate patina and the Large Natural Carico Lake Turquoise Stone has some expected light surface scratches, normal for age. The stone has beautiful varying shades of lime and light greens with some nice Pyrite flakes near the center and has plenty of texture and character.Carico Lake Turquoise has an astonishing color palette, ranging from highly unique electric greens to sky blue; from teal to mossy, earthy greens and rarely, a nugget with both earth and sky color.
The
highest grade Carico Lake Turquoise is gem-quality American turquoise.
Hard enough to
be
cut naturally, the high zinc content paints the stone an astonishing lime-green color with a
unique matrix, creating a much sought after and collectible stone.
