Antique pharmacy
/ drug store bottle once used at
A DRUG STORE, PHARMACY
called "
EDWARD A. BAER -- SOUTHERN PHARMACY (DRUG STORE)
" 1899-1900s era, in old historic beautiful downtown
BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA
THIS IS A RARE BOTTLE FROM HISTORIC KERN COUNTY TOWN....AND LOOKING AT THE MILLER CATALOG, THIS VARIETY IS NOT EVEN LISTED...CAME OUT OF LIFETIME COLLECTION OF KERN COUNTY DRUG BOTTLES.....watch for future listings
THE EDWARD BAER DRUG STORE WAS LOCATED UNDER THE HISTORIC "SOUTHERN HOTEL" IN BAKERSFIELD, THUS IT WAS CALLED THE "SOUTHERN PHARMACY" ....THIS IS ALSO THE SMALLEST SIZE THEY ISSUED......a friend of mine calls these bottles "shadowbox bottles"....as they can be displayed in small displays
THIS ALSO IS A "GO WITH" FOR A RARE "BAER DRUG" TOKEN.....WHILE THIS IS AN AUCTION, THAT RARE TOKEN IS ALSO ON EBAY...A TOKEN GO WITH
THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL SPECIMEN....IF YOU SEE A "LINE" IN THE LIP (see gallery)....THIS NOT DAMAGE.....IT IS A ELONGATED BUBBLE SWARM IN THE MOLD (AS MADE)
The old town of Bakersfield is located in the Kern County
California, not far from Taft, Shafter and Tehachapi
California
The bottle is what I would call light clear pale purple color glass, it is the tiniest size and stands about 2 3/4" tall ...and it displays really well.
, neat early bottle. Crisp embossing on this one....been sitting on shelf for many years...again, the line in lip is a bubble swarm, not damage
Gallery pictures should show you all you need to know, took pictures from many angles. (see gallery pictures)
