The authorities asked the RSPP to think about how businesses can pay taxes for 200-250 billion rubles

The Bell writes that in mid-December the government proposed to the RSPP to think about how to allocate a one-time payment of 200-250 billion rubles of additional taxes to the treasury. Moreover, the conversation began with twice the amount. RSPP proposed to increase the 20% income tax of (all) companies by 0.5 percentage points. (this will just correspond to the specified amount).

Earlier in 2022, tax increases only applied to Gazprom, Alrosa, and there were also rumors of tax increases on fertilizer companies.

As a result, on New Year’s Eve, the Ministry of Finance and the Federal Tax Service, in separate letters, offered businesses to “retroactively” pay additional income tax for 2022 from a positive exchange rate difference. According to the calculations of the RSPP, the entire economy in this case will be forced to pay an additional 1.8 trillion rubles in income tax this year, of which almost 270 billion rubles will go to the federal budget.
