- Coinbase Liquidates Pro Trading Platform
- Instead, the Advanced Trade tab will appear in the corporate client
- The transition is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Apparently, the Coinbase crypto exchange has embarked on a restructuring of services in order to combine all available tools on one platform. The Coinbase Pro advanced trading platform will be permanently closed, and a new option will appear in the proprietary application in its place.
The exchange introduced this platform in 2018. It offers the possibility of unlimited trading and covers about 250 available cryptocurrencies. But, more importantly, the commission here is less than on the main Coinbase site.
Yesterday, June 22, the exchange announced that it plans to completely close this portal. At the same time, the available tools will be unified in a single account on the corporate website and in the application.
A new section called Advanced Trade will appear in the program. The company assures that all the advantages of the Pro version, including the reduced commission, will be preserved.
The exchange expects to completely close the old platform by the end of this year. The transition will be smooth over several months. All customers will be notified in advance of the exact date of liquidation of Coinbase Pro.
The company did not explain the exact reason for the closure of the additional platform. A Coinbase spokesperson noted that it was purely a matter of convenience.
All the benefits of the Pro version are already available in the branded client, but many users still use the old tools. And in some transactions they have to “toss” funds from one balance to another.
It is noteworthy that the exchange had ambitious plans for this year. Before the massive drop in cryptocurrencies, Coinbase expected to hire about 2,000 new employees.
